Snow Day Fun

On this very cold, Nebraska snow day we have some ideas to spend quality time with the kids. These might also be used for CASA volunteers to get to know their CASA kids!

  1. Painting, drawing, coloring, making slime or paper crafts.
  2. Dress-up in different clothes, accessories, and costumes and put on a play.
  3. Create puppets and put on a show.
  4. Blast music and have a dance party.
  5. Play hide-and-seek.
  6. Create an indoor obstacle course with pillows, chairs and other household items.
  7. Play classic card games like Go Fish, Crazy Eights, and Memory.
  8. Read a new book or create stories together.
  9. Create simple science projects like making volcanoes.
  10. Have a paper airplane competition.
  11. Go on a "secret mission" with walkie-talkies.
  12. Make a squirrel or bird feeder.
  13. Watch a great classic kids movie.
  14. Play hopscotch with masking tape.
  15. Do a puzzle.
  16. Paint a pet rock.
  17. Learn a new dance.
  18. Plan a scavenger hunt.
  19. Have an indoor picnic.
  20. Color seasonal coloring pages.
  21. Draw a self-portrait.
  22. Write in a journal.
  23. Make a list of qualities you love about friends and family.
  24. Kids Yoga on Youtube.
  25. Write out a list of goals.
  26. Do origami for kids. 
  27. Roll up in blankets — burrito style — and see how long it takes to escape without unrolling.
  28. Video chat with a group of friends or relatives.
  29. Make a race track for toy cars out of cardboard boxes.
  30. Create a "potion" station with colored water.

  32. Fill a bowl with water to make a "pool" for dolls.
